A selection of Personal Masks recently created by Grade 10 High School

After a short introduction to masks and mask use across the ages, and focus
exercises, students began work. I provided blank white half masks, and all
materials. Some students brought embellishments from home.

A total of 4 periods were allocated. The last two periods were spent becoming
acquainted with their masks through guided journaling, movement and sound
exercises, first individually, and then in small groups.

Once again, the results speak for themselves. This type of work is
incredibly rewarding for me as I see both quality work, but more
importantly, honest work emerging. I know I was not the only who
was moved.
