' Kindling for Your Heart' - new
In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives it is often difficult to take a breath
and find some time for ourselves to nurture our creativity and fuel our imaginations.
We will take a time out to go on a light-hearted and playful journey together with masks,
stories and humour. We will take a breath, and have some fun!.

Unravelling the' Mystery of Mask'
Masks are powerful instruments of communication.
They have been used since the dawn of creation to tell a story, heal
and transform. They can conceal and protect as well as reveal and enlighten.
We'll examine examples of masks from around the world, their uses and significance.
Then we'll take a brief walk through the history of felt making, and discuss the design process
and techniques of a few of my felt masks.
Finally I'll demonstrate how I use the masks in storytelling.

'Personal Evolution - a trunk show'
This trunk show is a selection of my work over the years
and illustrates how it's evolved - one step leading to the next. I'll talk about sources
of inspiration, process, design and techniques. Pieces include quilts and wall hangings,
mixed media collage, felt pieces and felt and mixed media masks.

'Tasks for Masks'
We're constantly improving our 'hard' capabilities
- managing projects, learning new technology, measuring results. Managing
ourselves and how effective we are in our interactions with others are among what
Goldman calls Personal and Social Competencies. In our increasingly technical
world these are essential, and often overlooked skills.
We'll take an highly innovative and different approach to understanding
how these competencies can enhance our abilities to achieve job satisfaction,
produce results and reduce stress!

'How to become your own Change Master'
We'll explore strategies, skills and techniques that will
help equip you personally to become your own Change Master.
What form change takes is often out of our control, for example,
downsizing (as a survivor, and as a victim), budget cuts, new boss, new
or increased responsibilities, and changes in lifestyle to name a few.
This action-packed talk therefore concentrates on what you can do in response
to inevitable change. Our time together will include written exercises, discussion, stories,
and concrete, practical steps you can take to lower your stress levels, reframe, regroup
and re-inject enthusiasm and excitement into your life as you open to fresh
challenges and possibilities.

Talks and performances can be either 'standalone' events, or
be linked as a series of events, such as follow up workshops.
I'd be happy to discuss your needs and ideas for such combinations.

We are always in the process of developing new talks and
performances, so please do check in here for updates.

I can tailor talks, performances or workshops, which
incorporate fibre, stories and mask, for individuals,
guilds, and student or corporate groups.
