Held at The Textile Museum of Canada, Toronto.
In conjunction with "Living in Afghanistan", Curated by Natalia Nekrassova and Max Allen.
A unique combination of education, information and fun!
I began the day with an overview of the fascinating and long history of felt
as well as explaining the felting process and what fibres can be used.
Then we were given a guided tour of the Living in Afghanistan exhibition, which had
some amazing examples of felt work including an exquisite saddle blanket.
The afternoon was given over to exploring needlefelting techniques.
The linking of an exhibition with hands-on craftwork is an inspired way to learn and it's fun! Congratulations to the Textile Museum of Canada!
